Derek Harder

Headquarters Technician

Derek Harder is a technician at the CCWHC Headquarters office at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon.

Derek grew up in rural Saskatchewan, before obtaining his BSc. in Land Use and Environmental Studies from the University of Saskatchewan in 2005. Since then, he has enjoyed working in the fields of wildlife conservation and disease.

Derek joined the CCWHC in 2006 as a technician, working on the Chronic Wasting Disease surveillance and research project. Since then he has moved on to coordinate the National Avian Influenza Surveillance Program as well as provide technical support for a variety of other projects.
